Creating a new museum definition – the backbone of ICOM
According to ICOM, there is a need for a new definition. In this link to ICOM's official site, you will find information regarding the process that its Presidency and the Executive Board have taken to reach a new alternative museum definition for a vote to be included in the ICOM Statutes instead of the current museum definition at ICOM’s Extraordinary General Assembly (EGA) that took place on the 7th September 2019 at the Kyoto International Conference Center (ICC Kyoto) in Kyoto, Japan, last day of its 25th General Conference. However, the EGA has decided to postponed the decision. A new EGA will be proposed in the near future.
