Fellowships that nurture politically engaged art

This past weekend, we capped off our year-long 25th-anniversary celebration with a lively symposium that brought together several of our more than 30 current and former Vera List Center Fellows. Like Lorraine O’Grady, the Fellows are a remarkable group of artists, curators, critics, scholars, journalists, performers, and activists whose work examines important and challenging questions such as those on resistance to and use of institutions, how to not speak the language of power, on being a fugitive in a safe space, and protocols that sidestep decisions of power. Collectively, their intellectual and artistic leadership has not only left an indelible mark on the Vera List Center but has shaped institutions and communities around the world.

Please make a donation today to support this critical work.

With gratitude,
Carin Kuoni
Director/Chief Curator
