De zomer is eindig en zo is jammer genoeg ook de tentoonstelling van sonsbeek20→24, kom langs voor we groots afsluiten op 29 augustus. Met nog tien dagen te gaan, houden we het hoe dan ook liever kort. Hieronder wat je deze week mag verwachten online en offline, met stip in de agenda!

Een samenwerking met het New Yorkse Saas-Fee resulteerde in een fulltime educatieprogramma gericht op dat wat niet gezien of gehoord wordt, gefocust op zij die onzichtbaar of onhoorbaar zijn. vijf publieke gesprekken op vijf opeenvolgende dagen geven inzicht in de thematiek vanuit verschillende perspectieven. sonsbeek-curator Amal Alhaag bijt de spits af. De colleges zijn live en gratis bij te wonen en vinden plaats in het Engels

De felle neon signs in Arnhem centrum en in Sonsbeek Park zijn niemand ontgaan, hieraan gekoppeld volgt gedurende het slotweekend van de tentoonstelling een eerste conferentie in samenwerking met Dutch Art Institute. Onder de noemer sonsbeek council #3: Sex Work is Honest Work onderzoeken we collectief de ruimtes waarin gender, ruimtelijke politiek, intieme arbeid en ras elkaar kruisen en vervolgens in de "marges van de samenleving” worden verdreven.

In de letterlijk en figuurlijk omvangrijke catalogus van sonsbeek - en van de Arnhemse Werkplaats Typografie - staan tal van teksten over de thema’s van sonsbeek20→24: arbeid en soniciteit. Artistiek directeur Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung schreef een innemend en persoonlijk essay over het genormaliseerde klussen en diens (on)evenredige verhoudingen.

saas-fee summer institute of art x sonsbeek20→24

A collaboration with New York based Saas-Fee Summer Institute of Art resulted in a full-time education programme focusing on what is not seen or heard, on those who are invisible or inaudible. Five public talks on five consecutive days provide insight into the sonsbeek themes from different perspectives. sonsbeek curator Amal Alhaag is the first speaker. The lectures can be attended live and free of charge and will be held in English.

On invitation of and in collaboration with the Dutch Art Institute (DAI) and invited artist,  Olu Oguibe, sonsbeek20→24 presents the third sonsbeek Council#3: SEX WORK IS HONEST WORK. A two-day collective study, speaking and broadcasting in order to trace the ways gender, spatial politics, intimate labour and race intersect at the “margins of societies.”
