The Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm seeks a full time Professor of Architecture with focus on Social Justice. The candidate should demonstrate a leadership role on issues concerning architecture, contemporary social practices and social justice that may include expertise on issues of post-colonial studies, globalization, community building, spatial and relational cultural practices. This is a multidisciplinary position that seeks candidates who have a proven track record in working in complex social environments where conflict, race, gender inequality and diversity are part of the urban context. The position is a full time position with a provision for research time and commences in spring 2017. The appointment is for five years and may be extended for five years by RIA without being re-advertised. 

Faculty responsibilities will include teaching studio courses and seminars at a post professional level within the applicant's area of expertise, graduate advising, contributing to a cross-disciplinary dialogue and critique with faculty and students. The candidate will illustrate a commitment to promoting diversity and cultural invigoration, which includes developing collaborative projects with other faculty and across institutions nationally, regionally and internationally. 

Qualifications
A Masters in Architecture, PhD or equivalent required. Preference will be given to interdisciplinary scholars who can complement the education and research of RIA, have an active research agenda in the area and are experienced in engaging diverse communities.

Candidates must have a proven teaching experience at the college or university level.

Full-time faculty are additionally expected to contribute service to the institution and participate in faculty governance.
