Abstract:
This paper attempts to explore the emergence of a global art scene on visual representations in Latin America and more specifically in Brazil in the context of the globalization. Discuss the effects of globalization on the plastic arts, the place of art in society and the concept of identity in this process, as well as the question of the local in relation to the global, and how these two states intertwine. Another issue explored is the circuit of contemporary art and one of the main agents of legitimization, the art market.
