The Royal College of Art is seeking to appoint two part-time Senior Tutors to its Sculpture Programme within the School of Fine Art to lead two emerging strands, those of Critical Spatial Practice and Sculpture/Installation Art. Reporting to the Head of Programme, Apolonija Sustersic, the artist and architect appointed in 2012, the Senior Tutors will play a key part in the development of this Programme, which the College is working to position as the leading programme of its type at postgraduate level internationally.

While Senior Tutor, Sculpture-Critical Spatial Practice will have substantial knowledge and experience of interdisciplinary work at the intersection of art, architecture and social practice; Senior Tutor, Sculpture/Installation Art will be expected to have a good research base in the history of and contemporary development in sculpture and installation art in the UK and internationally.

Candidates for both roles will need to have a strong track record of leadership and student engagement in a higher education institution. They will have an international research profile. They will have made a significant contribution either by research and professional practice or through effective teaching of postgraduate students, or both, to the advancement of their specialised subject. They will have an active exhibition/research profile and professional practice.
