VASL OPPORTUNITY: Open call for a Multi Media project: “This is my story: Dialogue with Pakistan”.

OPEN CALL TO PHOTOGRAPHERS, VIDEOGRAPHERS & NEW MEDIA ARTISTS.

The Citizens Archive of Pakistan is launching a unique project: “This is my story: Dialogue with Pakistan”.

This is the first time in Pakistan, that an exhibition and awareness campaign will address issues pertaining to violence, displacement and reconciliation. “This is my story: Dialogue with Pakistan” will feature 30 artists-
Photographers, Videographers and New Media Artists- from throughout Pakistan in two multi-media exhibitions in Karachi and Lahore.

The artists will partake in a series of collaborative workshops in mid-May hosted by a board of established Photographers, Photojournalists, Videographers and Documentary Film-makers. Together the artists and
hosts will develop project proposals after which the artists will have a to month pursue their independent projects. The works will then be edited and curated, and exhibited in two multi-media exhibitions in Karachi and Lahore from the 15th to 30th of August 2011.

These artists will recreate impact zones and experiences through various exhibits which we hope will engage emotions of the general public, and elicit responses to the trauma and horror of war and conflict.
